Wallpaper Calculator

This calculator is offered as a convenience and is intended to be used for estimating only.  It does not take into account any unusual characteristics your actual room may exhibit, such as niches, offsets and wainscots.  It is always wise to buy an additional roll of the same run number to be sure you have an adequate amount.  You can print this completed form and take it with you to show your local salesperson for verification of the amount of paper needed.

Enter the dimensions of the room to be papered, the number of doors and windows, the size of the rolls, whether they are metric or standard rolls, and whether you would like a number of decorative border rolls calculated. Press "Calculate" to receive your answer.

Though sizes vary, single doors are assumed to be 17 sq. ft. and double doors to be 35 sq. ft.; small windows to be 12 sq. ft. and large windows to be 25 sq. ft.  Be sure to include any entry openings - even if there is no actual door.

Single rolls are calculated at 30 sq. ft., double rolls at 60, and triple rolls at 90. Extra waste is calculated in for larger pattern sizes.

If you are new to the process, and want to hang your own paper, you may want to forget about adjusting for windows and doors.  Just leave these entries blank.  This will help ensure that you have calculated enough waste into your project figures.
